Tanhua Jin, Professor at the Department of Urban Planning, the School of Architecture, Southeast University. She received her B.Sc. (2016) and M.Sc. (2019) degrees in Urban and Rural Planning from Southeast University, and her Ph.D. in Geography (2023) from Ghent University, Belgium, under the supervision of Academician of the European Academy of Sciences, Prof. Frank Witlox. She has undertaken academic visits at ETH Zurich and University College London (UCL), and held postdoctoral research positions at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Ghent University, funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO).

Her research focuses on digital urban design, urban big data analytics and machine learning, and the interaction mechanisms between urban spatiotemporal behavior and land use. In recent years, she has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles, including 16 SCI/SSCI papers, with two recognized as ESI Highly Cited Papers. Her awards include the Best Paper Award from the Urban Information Systems Committee at the 103rd Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), the Best Paper Award at the Benelux Transport Conference, the Second Prize of the Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award, and multiple provincial-level awards in urban design and planning.

She currently serves as an Editorial Board Member of Urban Planning and as a reviewer for over 20 leading international SCI/SSCI journals, including Cities, Land Use Policy, Urban Studies, Sustainable Cities and Society, Transportation Research Part D, and Journal of Transport Geography. She is currently the Principal Investigator of a National High-Level Young Talent Program, and has previously led a postdoctoral research project funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO; success rate 17%), as well as joint research projects funded by the European Union and the Netherlands, and the ENLIGHT European University Alliance.
